Sun 13th June - Stirling Show
There was a excellent turnout of teams at Stirling Show. There were four women`s teams from Ayr,Ayrshire,Cornhill and Bankfoot. There was also 8 men`s teams from Biggar,BRC,Bell Baxter,Callendar, Cornhill, East Kilbride,Lanark and Kinneff .
In the Women`s National 560kg there was an excellent final between Ayrshire the current Champions and Cornhill. Cornhill were hoping to emulate their men who have dominated the men`s events in recent year`s however the Ayrshire team contained a lot of experienced girls. On the day this proved to be the deciding factor. Cornhill looked strong and pushed very hard but Ayrshire had an answer for everything they tried and took the final 2 ends to 0
Cornhill did dominate the men`s events but had some good tussles throughout the day particulary with BRC, Biggar and Kinneff. In the other women`s weight Ayrshire proved too strong for an Ayr team that looks to be gearing up for the forthcoming Royal Highland Show.
